We have a strong Kaupapa for our events, and that is to listen to people's stories the way they chose to tell them. It is an open and non judgemental space to share whatever they feel safe to share. Women have shared stories of survival, success, challenges, heart break, recovery, business, motherhood, choosing to not be a mother, art, food, music, social justice, love, self worth, self love, change, and whatever else they feel fits - but it’s real. That’s what we support.

Introducing our Guest Speaker Line-up..

Korrin Barrett

In 2012, Korrin's life was forever changed when she was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. After a grueling journey that included over seven months in the hospital, she discovered an inner resilience she never knew she had.

Returning to her job on a major gas pipeline project in Australia gave her a sense of purpose and self-worth. Today, Korrin is a New Zealand-based keynote speaker who shares her story of survival with honesty, humor, and heartfelt inspiration, empowering audiences worldwide to embrace resilience and live their lives to the fullest.

She emphasizes the importance of gratitude, a positive mindset, and unwavering determination in returning to work with a disability. Korrin's journey was made smoother by the incredible support of her manager and colleagues, which positively impacted her overall well-being. Despite enduring further challenges, including sepsis and amputations of her legs and hands, Korrin's story is a testament to her strength and serves as a source of inspiration for others to overcome their own obstacles and live without limits.

Gina LiNnell & Beth Elstone

Gina Linnell is a seasoned professional in the Aotearoa music industry with over 16 years of experience. Her journey began in Wellington, where she started by doing poster runs in exchange for gig tickets. As her passion grew, Gina took on paid roles in various capacities, gaining valuable knowledge and insights into the event and music industry ecosystem. Gina was selected for a co-pilot programme where she spent time at Spotify HQ in Sydney and has managed events such as Napier Soundshell of over 12,000 people in one night.

In the past four years, she has witnessed a significant positive shift in the industry, with a strong sense of support from inspiring wāhine striving to bring about positive changes in the music industry.

Gina is proud to be part of this ongoing journey of mentorship, contributing her expertise and dedication to the industry she loves. Her experience, combined with the collective determination of passionate women, fuels her commitment to improving and making a difference in the music industry.

I had the honour of working with Beth at this Year’s First We Eat Festival in Tauranga, and it was then that I had begun planting the seeds to get her on stage to tell her story at Hawkes Bay Women on Top. Although quiet and humble, working busily behind the scenes, Beth Elstone is not your average event manager.

Beth began her journey in the event scene managing venues for a number of years before taking a punt on her own venture in 2018 and starting ‘Littlestone’, a Hawkes Bay based event management company, that works to deliver a mammoth schedule of shows, concerts and community events around the country each year. She's a force to be reckoned with, bringing her A-game to every project she touches.

With a remarkable talent for managing people and organizing events, Beth has taken the industry by storm, working on some of New Zealand’s most iconic events and festivals like Bay Dreams, Le Currents, First We Eat, the Church Road Winery Concerts, Sailing GP, The Single Fin Mingle, Art Deco Festival, and the list goes on.

What sets Beth apart is her uncanny ability to make the impossible look effortless. Behind the scenes, she's a master of systems and process, maximizing every second spent and respecting the precious time and skills of everyone involved. With Beth, there's no beating around the bush—she's direct, to the point, and gets things done with lightning speed. Efficiency is her middle name.

Beth and Gina have begun joining forces in the events industry, and both of these incredible Hawkes Bay event organizers are making waves, showcasing their amazing talents and leaving a lasting impact on the local and national event scene.
